Review by hotel critic
My recent stay at Mercure Welcome Hotel in Melbourne left me with mixed feelings regarding its value proposition. The room service pleasantly surprised me by proactively changing the air conditioning filter before I even mentioned the noise issue. This attention to detail truly exceeded my expectations. However, the hotel's Soul Cafe, while decent, felt out of place within a casino setting, lacking the high-class dining experience I typically seek. On the upside, the hotel's central location near major attractions like the MCG and Etihad Stadium is a definite plus, making it a convenient choice for sports enthusiasts. The affordable price point also makes this hotel appealing for budget-conscious travelers. While Mercure Welcome offers essential amenities and a welcoming atmosphere, it falls short in providing a truly luxurious experience. If you prioritize location and affordability over opulence, this hotel is worth considering for your Melbourne stay.
